As part of International Coaching Week, ICF Denmark proudly hosted another impactful webinar titled “Coaching for Social Impact through the Ignite Initiative”, to explore how coaching can drive social change and support the United Nations Global Goals.

ICF Foundation
The webinar began with introductions from two distinguished speakers, Kenneth Chai. ICF Foundation Ambassador, and Draskóczi Katalin, Ignite Project Manager, who shared their experiences and roles in promoting the Ignite Initiative and supporting ICF Chapters. The foundation aims to accelerate and amplify social system change through coaching, striving to make coaching integral to transforming societies. The concept of social impact was defined as the measurable positive outcome of coaching interventions on societal well-being and development.

Kenneth and Katalin introduced the Ignite Initiative, a key program of the ICF Foundation. This initiative involves six-month coaching engagements provided by ICF Credentialed Coaches at reduced rates, targeting organizations that support the UN Global Goals. The Ignite Initiative has significantly impacted over 56 organizations, engaged 693 ICF Credentialed Coaches, and delivered approximately 5,880 coaching hours in 2023 alone. The initiative supports various UN Global Goals, such as quality education, gender equality, and decent work and economic growth, making a profound difference in the lives of individuals and communities.

Announcing Our First CSR Partner: Danmarks Naturfredningsforening
We are thrilled to announce that Danmarks Naturfredningsforening (DN), one of Denmark’s largest NGOs, will be our first CSR partner. Signe Gramkow Sitarz introduced DN and explained how they can benefit from coaching. This partnership aims to leverage coaching to support DN’s mission of protecting nature and the environment in Denmark. By integrating coaching into their operations, DN aims to enhance the effectiveness of their initiatives and the well-being of their team members.

ICF Denmark’s 2024 CSR Pilot Project
Dora Hegedus and Krister Ekström presented ICF Denmark’s 2024 CSR pilot project, how members can participate and contribute, including the donation of coaching hours. This project offers various engagement opportunities, allowing coaches to make a tangible difference in their community. Participation in this pilot project is an excellent way for coaches to support social impact organizations while gaining valuable experience and fulfilling credentialing requirements (coaching hours).

Kenneth and Katalin emphasized the numerous benefits of participating in the Ignite Initiative. For coaches and ICF Chapters, these include opportunities for professional development, engagement in meaningful social impact projects, and recognition through ICF chapter awards. Organizations benefit from enhanced performance, better management practices, improved employee confidence, and overall growth.
If you want to be part of this exciting opportunity, and either offer coaching hours (either in Danish or in English), and/or contribute to the project, please write to Dora Hegedus president-elect
